In recent years Noordhoek has become a favourite amongst artists of all kinds looking for a quiet, rural and inspiring area in which to live. All of the artists are experts in their chosen disciplines and many have major commissions and local and international exhibitions to their credit. They offer a wealth of talent and expertise and will be happy to answer questions and make their talents availableto those who visit their studios in the beautiful Noordhoek Valley. Most of the studios are open between 10h00 & 17h00, and at other times by arrangement. MELVILL - PAINTER Roger paints in oils. His works are representational and are intended to depict the beauty to be found in nature |
LORETTE
ESPI - CERAMIST Lorette produces a varied range of decorative ceramics such as wash basins, storage jars,large bowls, platters and tea-pots. She also teaches beginners and advanced students at her studio. She has exhibited both nationally and internationally and is author of the book "Pottery and Ceramics - A step-by-step South African Guide" |
CATHERINE
PAGANI - CERAMICS & SCULTPTURE Catherine builds unique sculptural pieces and specialised functional ware. The work is fired to high stoneware temperatures in a wood kiln and the direct interaction of fire and clay is central to her work. The resulting finish is completely authentic and each piece is a gift from the fire. |
JUAN
ESPI - PHOTOGRAPHER Juan is a professional studio photographer whose work has appeared in numerous books and magazines. His more recent work includes the photography for the Larry Gould Guide to Golf in the Cape. Among his prints on display will be some of his stunning golf prints. |
GAVIN
FISH - BONSAI Gavin has grown Bonsais for 13 years and his collection features a variety of both indigenous and exotic trees ranging in size from 4cm to well over a metre tall. Come and watch Bonsais being created and worked on in the oak tree surrounded en. Visitors, enthusiasts and those in need of advice and assistance are welcome. |
LYNNE-MARIE
EATWELL - PAINTER Lynne specialises in oil paintings that depict everyday life in the urban areas. She shares a gallery and studio with her brother, Eric oswald Eatwell and her mother Mags, at the Noordhoek Farm Village where they are open 7 days a week. |
RON
STEEL - WOOD TURNING Ron Steel has been turning wood for the past 6 or 7 years. He is a member of the Western Province Wood Turners Association and looks forward to the day when he will be able to spend much more time discovering the form hidden within a piece of wood on the lathe. |
ALAN
FOWLER - PAINTER Alan works in pastels. His subjects include landscapes, seascapes, floral and still life. He finds painting a relaxing venture after retirement and paints for the joy of it. |
SONIA
JACKA - PAINTER Sonja is an oil painter. She paints a wide variety of subject matter including landscapes, flowers, still life, wildlife and portraiture. She enjoys the beauty and tranquility that Noordhoek has to offer and her current work reflects scenes from Noordhoek. |
HANK
OOSTHUIZEN - PAINTER Hank is a new resident in Noordhoek and is inspired by the beautiful proteas, wildlife and old Cape buildings. His work has been published in many academic and wildlife publications in this country. He paints acrylic on canvas, pencil on paper and pen and ink. |

HART - PAINTER Andrew is a new resident in Noordhoek - coming from Zimbabwe. He paints mainly in oils, watercolour and pencil. His preference is painting mainly wildlife, birds and trees. Andrew's works are detailed and capture the African atmosphere. |

WEBB - PAINTER Isabelle holds a Masters Degree in fine art (USA). She likes exploring a variety of both subject matter and media as they present themselves. Her work often reveals the extraordinary within the ordinary and the interplay between darkness and light. She has exhibited extensively both in South Africa and abroad. |
PAMELA
COOPER - PAINTER Pamela's bold contemporary still-life's in acrylic have become well known and sell internationally as well as locally. Her passion is the sea and her seascapes are done in oils with pallette-knife, creatin mood and movement in the execution. |
YOKA
WRIGHT - SCULPTOR "Palm Tree Studio" showcases original bronze sculptures, original art and a large range of prints depicting Cape coastal scenes and a variety of ethnic subjects. |
